UPDATE:

Radiant Tube Integrity Inspections are Required Annually!

According to the 2023 edition of NFPA 86: Standard for Ovens and Furnaces, Section 7.4.22, industrial furnaces operating with radiant tube burners without pre-ignition purge or flame supervision are required to undergo annual inspections to verify the integrity of the tubes.

NFPA 86 (Section N 7.4.22):"Where a radiant tube has no pre-ignition purge or no flame supervision, an annual inspection or test of the radiant tube, including any associated heat recovery system, shall be done to verify its integrity is such that unburnt fuel gases and products of combustion do not enter the working chamber."

PSNERGY technology can help you meet this requirement by:

  • Detecting cracked tubes within minutes in furnaces running with an atmosphere

  • Distinguishing between cracked tubes and carbon buildup for faster, more accurate troubleshooting

  • Monitoring and maintaining combustion performance to reduce the likelihood of tube cracking or carbon buildup in the future
