Why Perform a Combustion Balance and Tune?

Balancing and tuning your furnace is crucial to maintaining its efficiency, safety, and longevity. Deliverables

• Detailed Adjustments: 
  
  • Proper setting of Motorized Control Valves and Linkages.
  • Balancing fire rate between burners/tubes to the desired fire rate, decided in collaboration with PSNERGY and the customer.
  • Tuning all burners in the system to achieve the optimal air-to-fuel ratio.
  • Evaluation of all valves, orifice plates, and regulators (excluding the combustion safety train).

• Service Call Report: A detailed report in the customer portal documenting:
  
  • Furnace Description: Overview of the furnace being serviced.
  • Control System Layout: Diagram and description of the control system.
  • Recommended Tuning Procedure: Steps and methodology for tuning.
  • Work Completed: Detailed account of the work performed during tuning.
  • Initial and Final Settings: Documentation of key variables before and after tuning:
    
    • Pressure or Pressure drops.
    • High Fire stack excess oxygen readings.
    • Low fire or proportional control oxygen readings where applicable.
    • CO and NOx readings at radiant tube exhaust.
  • Recommendations: Suggestions for system improvements by the service team.
  • Efficiency Calculations: Calculated improvement in burner efficiency post-tuning.
