Furnace Screening

A Furnace Screening is a comprehensive on-site industrial furnace assessment, trending combustion data at the burner level over time.
Large industrial furnace with yellow tubes

  • PSNERGY Combustion Service Technicians onsite for one day
  • Installing portable combustion monitoring equipment on the furnace to watch combustion at the same time over time
  • Trending relevant continuous combustion data (Any of: Excess O2, CO, NOx, Combustion Air Pressure, Gas Pressure)
  • Working with the customer's team to control furnace fire rate throughout its range to screen function of control valving and turndown operation.  Note: furnace must be operating.
  • Working with customer’s maintenance team to review historical furnace issues
  • Analyzing the data for variations (time to time, burner to burner, zone to zone, setpoint vs actual, etc.)
  • Verifying valving (Motorized Control Valves, Gas Flow Regulators, Butterfly Valves, Adjustable Limiting Orifice Valves, etc.) is correct for the control schematic and are functioning correctly
  • Calculating tube flux on radiant tube burners to identify potential tube life issues.
  • This can be performed if there is enough information available to perform the tube flux and current fire rate calculations.  A tube drawing is needed.
